cmERDC and 16 K-12 School Partners Completed Major $298K E2T2 Technology Grant by Minnesota Dept. of Education!
A consortium of 16 public, parochial, and alternative districts andschools led by cmERDC completed a 2 year major grant for Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2) by the Minnesota Department of Education. All of these schools implemented data driven decision making processes using either the Viewpoint data warehouse solution or other student data analysis tools. The grant was a joint effort that produced a proposal for all the participating districts to train staff to effectively use the data driven decision making applications and to help administrators and educational leaders in the districts improve their data driven decision making processes. The E2T2 grant addressed the following key areas of need for these schools:
Training for staff to make effective use of student progress data
Identification and sharing of best practices for data driven processes
State-wide web system for sharing best practices across all schools
The grant impacted 171,000 students and 14,000 teachers !
This number represents almost 20%of Minnesota's K-12 enrollment. A wide variety of public, parochial, and alternative schools were actively involved in helping to design and write parts of this grant. The grant trained staff to be facilitators to create an on-going culture in schools that will promote and apply using data driven decision making processes. The grant involved staff organized in Professional Learning Communities focused on identifying Best Practices in data driven instruction for improved district, school and student achievement.
Although the grant is completed, the group continues to work together utilizing the best practices sharing web site: http://e2t2.erdc.k12.mn.us For access to that site and the data driven decision making documents and best practices findings, email jbrunell@erdc.k12.mn.us requesting a Guest logon.
